What is: Direct Relief’s Traditional Birth Attendant Kit?





Direct Relief partners with global med-tech company BD to provide training for, and distribute these kits to midwives in Ghana, Africa. The midwives then use the kits to assist with more than 80-percent of local births in the Tolon-Kumbungu District.  Direct Relief aims big. The organizations goal  is to “provide medical assistance to improve the quality of life for people victimized by poverty, disaster and civil unrest.”  We’re good with that—and subsequently glad that through their programs, we’ve had the opportunity to outfit midwives in Africa with 500-plus new headlamps.  Praise the almighty headlamp!
