This past weekend the 17th annual Ice Fest went down in North Conway NH. While P-Tec headquarters was getting nailed with nearly 2 feet of snow in NJ the White Mountains of NH remained in a dry spell, but the skies were clear and views fantastic. Each morning climbers gathered at IME in town to check out and demo gear before heading out for a day on the ice. Boots, packs, ice tools, clothing, and headlamps were all up for a demo day/evening on the ice. After a few hours in the brisk temperatures climbers returned to IME for afternoon refreshments, Tuckermans Ale on tap, and a chance to chat about the latest gear. Luckily I was safe behind a table of headlamps as tired climbers juggled cold beer and sharp ice tools.Â
